Permanence

User orientation was to be taken into account in the organization of development not just for the duration of the EnjoySAP project; instead, it should be internalized on a permanent basis. Rather than one-off renovation of the products, focusing on specific points, the aim was to redesign the development process itself. User-oriented elements were to be added to the existing and documented SAP development process and ensure that the focus was placed on users. In order to achieve this, the existing usability services were to be developed in order to add new methods and to integrate them in the overall SAP development process. The attitude of software engineers and management toward applying these methods and making resources available was thought to be crucial to the long-term success of the user-oriented software development process. This change in the thinking of the development staff was thus the prerequisite for lasting, internalized user orientation.
